چکیده

Two episodes of late Neoarchean-early Paleoproterozoic and garnet-bearing leucogranite, named the Baotou Jining–Liangcheng leucogranite are recognized from Khondalite Belt in North China Craton. Geochemical studies show that has high Al2O3 content FeOT/MgO ratio, with a large variation CaO K2O/Na2O ratio. Additionally, is enriched light rare earth elements ion lithophile depleted Nb, Ta, P, Ti. However, there some variations Eu anomalies, as indicated by Eu-enriched Eu-depleted patterns. The sensitive high-resolution microprobe (SHRIMP) zircon U-Pb dating their anatectic ages were 2.35–2.43 Ga 1.90–1.92 Ga, respectively, ?Hf (t) values ?0.01–3.93 ?4.36–1.99, two-stage model (TDM2) 2.76–3.02 2.57–2.83 respectively. U-Th-Pb SHRIMP analyses on reveal ca. 2.35–2.47 for metapelite gneiss 1.90–1.91 gneiss, which represent tectonic metamorphic events related to anatexis. Our results, combined geological petrographical observations, geochemistry, geochronology, suggest (1) Garnet-bearing leucogranites formed result anatexis gneisses; (2) They mixtures leucosomes, residual minerals mantle-derived materials; (3) have been identified; (4) Both two corresponded Palaeoproterozoic tectonothermal events,

Paleoproterozoic high-pressure metamorphism in the northern North China Craton and implications for the Nuna supercontinent

The connection between the North China Craton (NCC) and contiguous cratons is important for the configuration of the Nuna supercontinent. Here we document a new Paleoproterozoic high-pressure (HP) complex dominated by garnet websterite on the northern margin of the NCC. The peak metamorphism of the garnet websterite was after ∼1.90 Ga when it was subducted to eclogite facies at ∼2.4 GPa, then e...

Geobiology of the late Paleoproterozoic Duck Creek Formation, Western Australia

14 ________________________________________________________________________ 15 The ca. 1.8 Ga Duck Creek Formation, Western Australia, preserves 1000 m of 16 carbonates and minor iron formation that accumulated along a late Paleoproterozoic 17 ocean margin. Two upward-deepening stratigraphic packages are preserved, each 18 characterized by peritidal precipitates at the base and iron formation a...

Iron Formations: A Record of Neoarchean to Paleoproterozoic Environmental History

Iron formations are chemical archives of Precambrian seawater chemistry. Given that they accumulated onto the seafloor for over two billion years of Earth’s history, temporal changes in their composition offer a unique glimpse into the environmental changes that took place during that time interval. Perhaps one of the most significant events was the transition from an anoxic planet to one where...

Nitrogen Cycling in the Late Paleoproterozoic Redox Stratified

17 Nitrogen cycling has been evaluated across a depth transect in the late Paleoproterozoic 18 Animikie Basin, spanning the end of Earth’s final period of global iron precipitation and a major 19 transition to euxinic conditions in areas of high productivity. Sediments from near shore where 20 productivity was highest have N compositions up to ~3‰ higher than at more distal sites. 21 This sugg...

Metamorphism of basement rocks in the Central Zone of the North China Craton: implications for Paleoproterozoic tectonic evolution

Lithological, structural, metamorphic and geochronological data for the North China Craton enable its division into the Western and Eastern Blocks of Archean to Paleoproterozoic age separated by a north–south trending Paleoproterozoic orogenic belt: the Central Zone. The Central Zone is divisible into a series of lowto medium-grade granite–greenstone belts and high-grade metamorphic terrains co...
